UN Women announces Call for Proposals for Implementing Partners (Civil Society Organizations) – Grenada

Under the EU UN Spotlight Initiative, UN Women invites Call for Proposal (CFP) for Implementing Partners – (For Civil Society Organizations – CSOs) Development and Implementation of a Social Accountability Strategy for Monitoring of the National Strategic Action Plan for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence (NSAP-GBV) in GRENADA.

The European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) have embarked on a new, global, multi-year initiative focused on eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG) – The Spotlight Initiative

It is expected that women’s rights advocates’ and CSOs capacities to use social accountability mechanisms to support their advocacy and influence on prevention and response to VAWG are strengthened. With this in mind, resources are being made available within the SI, to support CSO capacity to develop and implement a strategy to track and monitor implementation of the NSAP-GBV and to undertake the following:

Implement condensed prevention programming (Foundations) which promotes gender equality and violence prevention behaviour change programmes for out of school youth within existing youth development programmes (1 CSO Grant USD45,000 equivalent).
Develop a community-based programme that supports, enhances and sustains the outputs of the Batterer Intervention Programme (1 CSO Grant USD25,000 equivalent).
Implement a Knowledge Attitude Perceptions and Beliefs study with the judiciary to understand some of the observed challenges in the application of sentencing guidelines and how this also leads to the need for second prevention interventions and investment (1 CSO -Grant USD20,000 equivalent).
Partner with the judiciary in changing social norms and practices which influence the urgency of cases, the treatment of cases and the sentences passed down to perpetrators (1 CSO -Grant USD20,000 equivalent).
Develop social mobilization around the role of the judiciary as duty-bearers who have an outsized impact on how the rest of society sees FV as a serious crime (1 CSO -Grant USD20,000 equivalent).

In Grenada, UN Women will function as the Technical Coherence Lead while leading on Pillars 3 and 6. UNDP will lead Pillars 2 and 5; UNICEF Pillar 1; and PAHO/WHO, Pillar 4.

Submit Progress / Status Report on a monthly basis in line with UN Women guidelines and requirements.
Submit a final report at the end of the project period.
Eligibility Criteria

UNWOMEN is soliciting proposals from Civil society Organization (CSOs). Women’s organizations or entities are highly encouraged to apply.
Requirements:

Technical/functional competencies required;
Implementing Partners must be a Registered Non-Governmental Organization.
At least 5 years’ experience implementing initiatives on gender equality and women’s rights, including the elimination of violence against women.
At least 5 years’ experience producing knowledge products and research on violence against women.
At least 5 years’ experience working in Grenada.
Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services
Previous experience working with the United Nations.
