The U.S. Embassy Algiers Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce an open competition for concept notes for projects that would address societal issues in rural and developing areas.

This funding opportunity aims to strengthen ties between the United States and Algeria through projects that would assist government, civil society, private sector, community groups, and individuals in engaging vulnerable or underprivileged individuals in activities that benefit their local communities and prepare them to become future community leaders.

Respected community leaders, women, youth, religious figures, social workers, and educators are key groups to consider as project audiences.

Priority Areas
Priority Program Areas may include, but are not limited to:

Building safe and resilient communities.
Promoting youth activism
Strengthening media professional capacities on reporting and promoting fact-checked news.
Amplifying positive voices, especially as a means to counter negative or hateful ideology and messages.
Funding Information
Maximum for Each Award: $50,000.00

Eligibility Criteria
Local civil society organizations;
Organizations that work with vulnerable populations (e.g., local youth organizations, youth houses);
Schools or universities;
Media outlets;
Local municipalities
