Third Wave Fund: Seeking Applications for ‘Sex Worker Giving Circle’ Program

Deadline: 27 June 2018

Third Wave Fund is seeking applications for a program entitled “Sex Worker Giving Circle (SWGC)”.

The SWGC is a cross-class, multiracial, intergenerational giving circle made up of a group of Fellows who are women, queer, and trans folks with current or past experience in the sex trade.  This fund is interested in supporting work done by and for sex worker communities most impacted by oppression and who have the least access to funding.

Grant Information

In its pilot year, the SWGC plans to make ten to twelve one-year, non-renewable grants to sex worker-led organizations or groups with budgets of under $250,000. Grants are available at three different levels: $5,000, $10,000, and $20,000.

Types of Work

  • Harm reduction, healing justice, and safety planning
  • Organizing and grassroots advocacy, including labor organizing which addresses oppressive labor practices within the sex trade
  • Organizational capacity building, including efforts to develop skills and infrastructure within your group
  • Political education, cultural work, and anti-stigma work
  • Legal education and outreach, including work to address the impacts of the criminal legal system
