Teranga Gold hiring a Civil Project Manager.
This is national position: (4 weeks (28 days) on site / 2 weeks (14 days) off site roster to our Sabodala mine site operations in Sénégal.
Your responsibilities at Teranga Gold
Project Management:
-Manage the relevant contract(s), scheduling, planning, cost control, reporting, procurement, recruitment and construction activities on the Niakafiri project.
-In the first instance, integrate with the CSR team, to ensure successful completion of the Sabodala Village relocation project.
-Establish KPI’s and manage the tracking and reporting within the company’s established project control framework.
-Manage and report on project milestones and budgets measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain the agreed upon schedules, costs and quality.
-Liaison with the management team of the existing mining operation and corporate office to ensure satisfaction and agreement with project deliverables and timelines.
-Ensure timeliness and completeness of all project reports and plans.
-Anticipate problems and proactively mitigate all risks that may hinder the success of a project.
Leadership and Team Development:
-Consult with internal/external partners to plan and organize necessary project resources.
-Interface regularly with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle in order to ensure execution is in-line with commitments and expectations.
-Participate in corporate and site development activities such as scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies as required.
-Provide detailed project completion analysis to ensure efficiencies and learnings are captured and understood as part of the organisation’s continuous improvement cycle.
-Mentor and develop employees so that they can advance through various career opportunities
Required Skills & Experience:
-Engineering Degree strongly preferred with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in RAP construction, mine development and other construction activities; an equivalent combination of education including technical designation and experience is preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years of direct construction and mine development experience in a safety critical environment.
-Expertise with project management processes; project controls, work planning & scheduling, and contract management.
-Advanced software skills and knowledge of MS Projects and MS Office Suite is preferred.
-Strong communication skills with ability to speak and write fluently in French and English.
-Demonstrated record in developing and working with “best in industry” practices.
-Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing local and national employees in a developing country.
-Must possess strong cultural sensitivity and be able to execute work successfully in a different culture.

-Financial analysis;
