Teranga Gold Corporation recruits 01 Safety Coordinator
Summary of Role
This is a national position: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster to our Sabodala mine site operations in Senegal.
This position will report to OHS Manager & to ensure that the safety management program of the SGO is implemented and maintained to meet Legislative, OHSAS/ISO standards and ensure that the Safety team has sufficient training and resources to drive implementation of the SGO safety management system to all operational and controlled areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate site Safety team overall understanding of standards and procedures
- Drive and monitor site Safety Management System
- Plan, drive and review site Audit program
- Develop and monitor Safety Supervisor work programs
- Host visits from Environment/Safety auditors, inspectors, and Insurers
- Compose and review forms, documents, and procedures in accordance with SGO document control procedures
- Lead and drive major incident investigation team on site
Required Skills & Experience
- Must have 4+ years of experience in safety management, at least 2 years in a supervisory position
- Safety and Quality Management Certificate/Diploma
- OSHAS18001, ISO14001, ISO9001 Assessor
- Root Cause Analysis qualification
- Data-driven GAP analysis
- Leadership experience in managing a team
- Completely computer literate including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is required
- SharePoint use would be an assett
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of leadership, self-motivation, and initiative
- Fluent ability to communicate in French and English is a must
- Good reporting writing and presentation skills
- Good organizational and team-building skills with the ability to problem-solve and systematic analysis
- Ability to assess situations and make clear decisions under pressure in difficult work environment conditions
- Strong understanding of risk and quality management systems
