I. TechnoServe Background
TechnoServe works with enterprising people in the developing world to build competitive farms, businesses and industries. We are a nonprofit organization that develops business solutions to poverty by linking people to information, capital, and markets. Our work is rooted in the idea that given the opportunity, hardworking men and women in even the poorest places can generate income, jobs and wealth for their families and communities. With more than four decades of proven results, we believe in the power of private enterprise to transform lives.
II. Context
BeninCajù helps cashew processors to raise their production levels and connect with lucrative markets, while creating jobs in rural areas where unemployment is high. Over five years, this nearly $20 million project – a collaboration between TechnoServe, Catholic Relief Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture – seeks to create close to 4,000 jobs in the cashew processing industry (70 percent of which are for women) and improve the incomes of almost 35,000 producers, representing a quarter of all cashew farmers in Benin.
III. Purpose
To support development and implementation of BeninCajù’s communications strategy through the production of multimedia content and the organization of events, especially those focused on international audiences.
IV. Scope
The selected consultant will be responsible for the following tasks and activities:
 Implementation plan for BeninCajù traveling exhibit. Scout out sites and stakeholders to prepare for the estimated December 2018 traveling photo exhibit that aims at engaging with the project’s beneficiaries across Benin, by showing them the value and importance of their work, through high quality multimedia material. The consultant will work along with the Communications Manager to select and prepare the media material, and promote the event within local government institutions, partners, and other cashew sector stakeholders.   Video and photo documenting BeninCajù/BeniBiZ. In order to strengthen the project’s media library for future marketing and communication material needs, collect targeted photo and video of the projects’ various activities, as needed. The expected deliverable would be a quantity (TBD) of videos and photos diverse enough to cover all aspects of the project(s), including short promotional videos for the project, and journalistic storytelling articles in French and English for both print and web media diffusion.
 Personnel capacity building. Develop materials for and implement training to strengthen and build the capacity of the TechnoServe Benin Communication team and overall management staff in communication and the production of stronger and more impactful communication material.  TechnoServe Benin and beneficiary communications and marketing.
