USD 1 million Partnership Fund for SDG Impact Projects
The Swedish Institute (SI) offers funding to Swedish universities, for projects together with their partners in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. Universities from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland may also be involved. The overall thematic area is strengthened capacity for internationalization within higher education and research. The call is open to new as well as already established partnerships.
The programme offers project funding of two types, both of which with a Swedish university as the main applicant to SI. While the primary target group is key personnel at higher educational institutions (incl. researchers, teachers and other staff), also other types of organizations and expertise may be involved, depending on the project idea.

Grant amount between SEK 100,000 – 300,000
The main applicant has to be a Swedish university.
At least one partner from one other country of priority
Max. 10 partners in total (excl. main applicant)
Collaborative project
Max. project duration 18 months
Grant amount between SEK 500,00 – 1,000,000
The main applicant has to be a Swedish university.
At least partners from two other countries of priority
Max. 10 partners in total (excl. main applicant)
Eligibility Criteria
The main applicant to SI must represent a Swedish university, but the application should be prepared jointly together in the partnership. The main applicant acts as project leader and is also the main contact for SI during the project duration.
The programme focus is collaboration between universities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine. These are countries of priority. Other countries that may be involved are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. These are considered as additional countries, which may be involved if it strengthens the partnership with important experiences and/or certain required capacities. Only one partner from the group additional countries per project is eligible for funding using the SI grant.
