Job Description
SNV is seeking a dynamic and pragmatic professional to join it’s agriculture sector. As Management Support Officer (MSO) you are responsible for providing executive and administrative support to the Managing Director of the Agriculture sector (MD). You will create optimal conditions for the MD to execute his tasks. The MSO will support the MD in the management cycle within his cluster of countries by collecting, analyzing and flagging management information. The MSO is expected to participate in internal projects and to support the MD by doing desk research, and provide support in project communication and advocacy work. You will take care of complex calendar and logistics management for the MD and Global Sector Coordinators (GSCs), organizing and scheduling (sector) meetings and manage appropriate (confidential) correspondence in a timely manner. You will report directly to the Global Managing Director (MD) for Agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
Support the MD in oversight of the country management cycle (Management Agreements, Mid-Year reviews) in the MD’s cluster of countries;
Support the MD in organizing and reporting on the steps in the performance cycle (PRDP, PAR) of staff reporting to the MD;
Compile and analyse sector management information for the Agriculture sector team;
Collect, analyse and interpret information (desk research) for the Agriculture sector team;
Draft agendas, make meeting notes, conduct and file email and other correspondence and communications on behalf of the MD;
Monitor the Agriculture sector support budget and compile reports to the MD;
Deal with queries, prepare documentation for meetings and assist in drafting presentations;
Coordinate all travel arrangements (tickets, hotel, visa) for the MD and GSCs;
Organize and coordinate meetings (e.g. sector meetings, workshops, events, interviews) on request of the MD;
Provide support to specific projects and activities on request of the MD.
Qualifications
 Graduate (Masters) degree in Public/Business Administration, International Development, International Business or related field;
At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in a related position preferably in an international (development) context with good appreciation agriculture sector;
Prior experience delivering professional support to senior managers and ability to function in a multi-country/cultural setting that has a global scope
High attention to detail with experience in quality assurance processes;
Experience with analytical desk research;
Pragmatic and pro-active self-starter with a service orientation;
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably French
Demonstrate a high level of ethics, professionalism and confidentiality at all time;
Practical applied knowledge of office management processes;
Profound experience in using MS Office.

Contract Details – Open to Kenyan Nationals and Nationals of other countries willing to accept contract type
Terms of Appointment
This is a full-time national position with the successful candidate being contracted on a 2-year basis with the possibility of renewal. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
