Sightsavers recruits 01 Inclusive Design Lead – a new role within our expanding design-led team.
- Salary: UK: £38,000 – £42,000. Nigeria and Senegal: Local terms and conditions apply
- Location: UK, Nigeria or Senegal
- Contract: Two Year Fixed Term Contract
- Hours: This is a full-time role with some flexibility around hours worked and some home working
About the role
We’re looking for our first inclusive design lead to co-create and prototype design solutions for a variety of global health and inclusion challenges. This is a varied role, encompassing behaviour change and product development projects across neglected tropical diseases, disability inclusion and eye health programmes, and also influencing partner approaches to design and accessibility.
We’re looking for someone with proven knowledge of inclusive design tools and methodologies, but are open to the professional background candidates may have. The role could equally suit a service designer, product designer, or a visual communications or digital all rounder. Aptitude and attitude are more important than niche experience.
Whatever your background, you’ll have the winning combination of empathy, clarity and creativity that make for excellent design. You’ll get as much satisfaction from running a co-creation workshop as you do from making the creative leap from a scrappy design brief and a blank sheet of paper or an empty room to a life-changing design solution. In return you’ll be supported by a committed, inclusive and talented inhouse team with a broad range of skills to help your solutions become realities.
The job can be based predominantly remotely, but it’s expected international travel to Sightsavers programmes will be required.
