The New Business Development Manager plays a lead role with programme teams to identify and follow up on linkages between donor strategies, member interests, and country office priorities and will play a key role in facilitating smooth communication between all stakeholders.
The incumbent will be responsible for the formulation of the funding strategy for the response. S/he will work closely with the Awards Team, programme teams and other departments to ensure the development and timely submission of high quality project proposals.
Key accountability;
Working closely with SC members and other stakeholders, collect donor intelligence and undertake a donor mapping against response focused sectors.
Maintain relevant trackers and planners to monitor performance and submit regular updates to the SMT.
Carry out in depth reviews of unsuccessful proposals to identify reasons and any lessons learned. Document, share and develop plans to address identified weaknesses.
Work with MEAL and Communication teams to develop marketing materials and presentations for external use.
Work with programme teams to identify gaps in the funding portfolio and work closely with members to support the development of proactive concept papers that are marketable to donors.
Supervise and ensure proper facilitation of project design workshops, developing concept papers, full proposals, and budgets, ensuring that high quality standards are met and that proposals meet donor and member requirements.
Clearly identify roles and responsibilities and key actions for proposal development and ensure that there is a robust internal review process in place to ensure quality proposals are submitted.
Ensure that all relevant Programmes, Operations and Support teams such as HR, Awards, Procurement, IT, Finance are fully and proactively involved in the development of new proposals.
Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of the donor database, proposal tracking system, and resources roster in the team.
Qualifications and experience
Essential Skills:
3-5 years of experience in related work field
Understanding of donor proposal requirements (EC/USAID/DFID, corporates, etc.).
Experience in coordinating development of large-scale or strategic proposals, including the development of multi-million-dollar project budgets.
Significant professional experience of working in a senior Monitoring and Evaluation capacity with an international NGOs, UN or donor agency or the private sector.
Proven track record in developing winning concept notes and project proposals.
Highly skilled in program design, including development of log frames, results frameworks, and budgeting.
Excellent writing and presentation skills, particularly in English.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching, as well as the ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Proficient understanding of humanitarian situation in Bangladesh.
Ability to present complex information in a concise and compelling manner.
Desired skills:
Understanding of Save the children Member systems, regional and Center
Good facilitation and cross-functional leadership skills
Good research and analytical skills.
Management experience
Advanced computer proficiency
Language skills in Portuguese, Spanish or Italian preferred
Contract length: 6 Months with potential to extend (Unaccompanied contract)
