CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
CONTRACT LEGNTH: 12 months-National
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Regional Awards Coordinator (RAC) will support the Head of Awards Management in WCA in leading grant management / support across the WCA region, with a major focus on reporting and analysis. He/she will play a key role in reinforcing the quality of awards reporting systems, processes and tools. He/she will support the awards team in the monitoring and analysis of submitted reports to members, and will provide oversight on donor reporting performance, awards close out and Key Performance Indicators.
QUALIFICATION:
•Master’s degree in Finance / Project Management
•3 to 5 years of experience at/or at least 2 years working in INGOs
•Experience managing grants, contracts & sub agreements with knowledge of major funders’ guidelines (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA, SIDA etc.)
•Skilled in the contractual obligations of key donors i.e. USAID, EU, Echo, DFID, OFDA etc. This individual would be continually remaining up-to-date with the changing requirements of the various donors and integrating these in quality reviews
•Ability to perform grants portfolio analysis and support all routine technical aspects of grant management processes
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly with thoughtful, accurate information
•Experience in capacity building; coaching and delivering training at an individual and group level
•Computer literate including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
•Proven ability to handle/priorities challenging and multi-tasked workload in complex working environment
•Willingness to travel to Country Offices for support and capacity building purposes
•Experience working in a regional &/or country offices with preference for experience in WCA
•French and English speaking desirable.
