Carclew offers grants to early-career artists aged 26 years or under, for arts projects with a tangible outcome and/or skills and career development. Project & Development Grants for Individuals provide up to $10,000 and are offered twice per year for activity occurring in the following six months. The current round is for projects undertaken July – December 2021.

Early Grant Information for NGOs
PROJECTS:
Creative projects that encourage, develop, and promote the artistic practice of people aged 26 and under.
NOTE: projects may incorporate professional development and career-building activity (up to $3,000 allocation within the overall budget).
DEVELOPMENT:
Applicants may seek support for professional development (e.g. skills development and career-building) and apply for up to $3,000 from this program.

Project and Development Grants for Individuals encourage, develop and promote the artistic practice of people aged 26 and under and support:
Skills development in creative practice (grants of up to $3000).
Artistic career building (grants of up to $3000).
Development and/or presentation of new work (grants of up to $10 000).
Development and/or presentation of existing work (grants of up to $10 000).
Small-scale projects which enable participation in the arts for children and young people (grants of up to $10 000).
Project and Development Grants for Individuals support:
Exploration of new art form practice and technologies.
Creative development and/or presentation of original new work.
Creative development and/or presentation of existing work.
Participation in workshops, mentorships, internships, residencies etc.
Access to cultural heritage.
Purchase of small items of equipment that are essential to the proposed project and not available for hire at a lower cost (it is essential to discuss this with Carclew’s Funding Program team prior to submitting your application).

Grants of up to $10,000 are offered twice per year for activity in the following six months.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be 26 years of age or under at the application closing date.
Artists may apply for project support as an unincorporated group, however, 60% of the group must be aged 26 years and under at the time of application.
This program is not open to legally constituted organizations (see Project & Development Grants for Organizations are offered in the September round).
Applicants must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia, and be a current resident of South Australia.
Individuals aged 26 years and under who have received project funding through Arts South Australia as an individual artist are not eligible to apply to this program.
If you have previously received Carclew funding, you must have submitted a satisfactory acquittal report before a further funding application can be assessed.
Applicants cannot have repayments due on a QuickstART Microloan.
Failure to use the correct application format or complete any aspect of the application may make it ineligible.
