Portugal: Funding available for Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy Programme

The Innovation Norway has launched a call for proposals for Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy Programme to ensure good environmental status in Portugal’s ecosystems and to reduce the adverse effects of pollution and other human activities.

Through this Program, projects in specific depressed, interior and forests territories in Portugal, considered highly vulnerable to climate change, will be financed.
Focus Areas
Resilience of forest and burned areas: This focus area aims to enhance the resilience of forest areas and its susceptibility to fires and desertification
Resilience of the productive systems at oak trees agro-forests and grazing areas: This focus area aims to promote and enhance sustainable production methods and management in agroforest systems and extensive grazing, focusing on soil protection.
Resilience of productive systems: This focus area aims to reduce the susceptibility to desertification in semi-arid and dry sub-humid areas, by smart management and the use of technologies, aiming the sustainable use of local products and land.
Funding Information
The allocation available for this Call is € 1.229.858 euro.
Minimum grant amount of financing for each project: 200.000 euro.
Maximum grant amount of financing for each project: 400.000 euro.
Duration of Projects: 18 months
Eligibility Criteria
Public or private entities, commercial or non-commercial, and non-governmental organisations legally established as legal persons in Portugal.
