Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Grant Manager for Country Office who will be reporting to the Business Development Manager.
Dimensions of the Role
 The post holder will report to the Business Development manager and directly supervises and coaches three full time Grant Compliance Coordinators deployed in the country office. S/he is accountable for the grant management especially donor and National offices compliance adherences within the grants portfolio.  This will support in increasing country grants portfolio through smooth running of grant management.
S/he proactively working with National Office (NOs) counterparts and a wide range of multilateral and bilateral donors to maximize quality grant management as well as donor compliance adherences practices;
Accountabilities
 Initiating, drafting and managing Funding Agreement Document (FAD) and Sponsorship Project Agreement Document (SPAD) stage 1, 2 and 3 processes as well as addendums in collaboration with NOs counterparts as well as PAMs including securing approval from RESA and/or IH based on grant threshold;
Ensure that FAD Packages are developed and shared on timely manner to the respective;
Ensure that donor report (both narrative as well as financial) and required documents are submitted timely to respective donors/NOs maintaining donor compliances;
Formulating and implementing effective grant compliance management systems;
Ensures project activities are implemented in line with approved project proposal and Funding Agreement Document, esp. with regards to compliance requirements
Liaises regularly with all key internal departments (viz. Programme, Finance, Human Resource, and Communications & Marketing) to ensure there is a joined-up approach to the management of grants with regards to compliance requirements
Supports capacity building on grants compliance management and donor compliance requirements to both Plan’s staff and Plan’s international/local partners
Provides grants management training (key principles/fundamentals, specific donor requirements, systems and procedures
Develops and leads a process for sharing learning on grants compliance management
Ensures that Funding Agreement Document are prepared timely and Grant/FAD Tracking System maintained effectively (which includes Grant Analysis Dash Board, Report Tracking sheet, Grant Master Data sheets, Grant Compliance Sheet etc..)
Archiving under central grant files as well as in hard copies all vital information related to each grant ( e.g. technical and budget at proposal stages, FAD stages 1,2 and 3, donor agreement and FAD addendum, essential email communication with NOs and Donors, technical and financial report etc…)
Contribute to Quarterly Business Development Report required by Regional office
Contributing to the management of the annual operational budget of the Business Development Department that is based at the Country Office.
Coordinates funding gap analysis process, for factual prioritization of funding needs;
Supports in identification of potential/suitable donors
Collaborating with the Grant Acquisition Team to identify grant opportunities and provide inputs in grant proposal development based on needs;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Any other related duties required by the supervisor.
Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Educational Qualification
A masters’ degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related field is desirable ( essential)
b) Work experience
A minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience in grant management with managerial responsibilities (essential)
Experience in working for  a multilateral, a bilateral organisation or an international NGO, funding or implementing development and humanitarian interventions (essential)
c) Knowledge
Knowledge of main donors’ practices and key requirements in support of development interventions and humanitarian response such as UN Agencies, USAID, DFID, GAC, etc.. (essential)
Knowledge of project cycle (design, planning, implementation, M&E) and project management
Knowledge of grant management  systems, policies and procedures; and ensuring that they are
Knowledge of human resource management
d) Skills specific to the post
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment ( essential)
Excellent team building and proven managerial skills (incl. conflict management)
Negotiation skills
Problem solving skills.
Proven computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software including MS Word
     processing, Power point presentation, Excel spreadsheets, e-mail and web based
     research.
