BackgroundThe prorgramme is intended for implementation in urban communities in Cairo, Assiut and Alexandria, with the aim of mainstreaming gender equality with a very specific focus on empowering girls and young women (aged 13 to 24 yrs) to take collective action for systemic change in their cities. Girls and young women, supported by boys and young men (aged 13-24 yrs), will take collective action to claim their right to safe, accountable and inclusive cities and to advance gender equality.

Overall programme objectiveThe overall objective of this programme is that” Girls and young women in Egypt collectively lead in safe, accountable, and inclusive cities”

Specific programme objectivesBy implementing this programme, Plan International Egypt seeks to achieve the following objectives:

Objective 1: Groups of adolescent girls and boys (age 13 to 24 years) are supported by their families and communities to contribute to change social norms around safety and participation of girls in cities.
Objective 2: The participating youth groups gain the essential skills and have access to resources and spaces to meaningfully engage in decision making at various levels.
Objective 3: Government authorities at local, district and national level strengthen the policy framework on girls’ safety and participation in cities.
Responsibilities Responsible for follow up with the partner NGOs and CDAs activities and plans.

 Conduct regular field visits to ensure the quality of implementation of the activities in addition to handle any challenges in field up to the level of the given authority.
 Provide daily report for the field visits with main observations and recommendations.
Track the expenditure of the budget and compare VS planned.
 Able to develop success stories and case studies for the project activities.
Responsible for financial advanced and settlement within Plan office.
Experience in handling events indoor or outdoor with companion of Children.
 Review with the project coordinator the implementation and status of the planned activities regularly.
Requirements
 University degree in related field.
 Documentation and report writing skills.
 Excellent command of computer skills and MS Office.
 Minimum 2 years of field experience.
 Detailed oriented.
 Ability to handle heavy workloads and tasks, and meet deadlines.
 Strong interpersonal skills.
 Good English language writing and speaking skills
 Ability to identify diverse, relevant external actors to work with and understand the purpose and implications of working with them
 Ability to develop stakeholder capacities
 Good understanding of gender and sage guarding issues
Ability to work collaboratively with others

Level of Contact with Children:  The position will be based at the Program Unit and level of contact with children is medium.
