Context:Under the overall supervision of the Emergency and Post Crisis Programme Coordinator of IOM’s Office in Ethiopia, and the direct supervision by the Project Manager (WASH and Shelter), the successful candidate will support aspects of the project development and monitoring, evaluation and information management of WASH and Shelter activities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:1. Utilize the WASH and Shelter Unit’s information system and track collected data for ongoing projects and conduct preliminary analyses to support relevant Clusters and Program support unit.2. Provide inputs for the improvement of the existing WASH and Shelter matrix.3. Utilize the file management system for the program, monitor data quality and track the progress of activities.4. Bring issues of data accuracy and inconsistencies to the attention of the supervisor.5. In close collaboration with cash, shelter and WASH officers and Program Support Unit, provide inputs for the development and roll out of market assessments, Knowledge Attitude and Practices (KAP), and baseline and end-line surveys, and conduct preliminary data analysis.6. Track the corrective actions taken and/or adjustments made to responses.7. Participate in specific field monitoring visits as assigned and provide administrative and logistical support to field teams for assessments, verifications, data collection, management, and analysis.8. Provide inputs for the development of proposals and reporting for WASH and Shelter grants.9. Closely coordinate with field teams to collect case studies on WASH and Shelter activities to share with IOM Communications team for wider dissemination and visibility.10. Organize regular training and capacity building sessions on the importance of Accountability to Affected Population (AAP), monitoring and evaluation.11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education• Master’s degree in Economics, Social Science, international development, project monitoring, management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution or,• University degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience• Experience of working with UN or humanitarian organizations, reporting, and monitoring of humanitarian programmes, WASH and Shelter-NFI interventions and cash-based interventions;• Proven track record of working with government officials, UN agencies, NGO and communities in the execution of humanitarian WASH and shelter projects;• Knowledge and experience working with UN administrative procedures;• Working experience in the East and Horn of Africa is an advantage;• Knowledge of or prior experience with similar issues in Ethiopia is an advantage;• Knowledge and experience working with UN administrative procedures.
Skills• Excellent report writing and analytical skills, proficiency in written and spoken English;• In depth knowledge of the broad range of WASH and Shelter related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
LanguagesIOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
