The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing potential availability of funding for the purpose of leveraging NRCS resources, addressing local natural resource issues, encouraging collaboration and developing state- and community-level conservation leadership. Proposals will be accepted for projects located in the state of Wisconsin.

The purpose of this NFO is to encourage and promote conservation planning and conservation practice implementation in urban, suburban, and other small-scale type agricultural operations.

Additionally, proposals should seek to:

Provide conservation learning experiences to urban, suburban, and Tribal communities.
Address concerns regarding food deserts.
Advance Tribal food sovereignty.
Achieve positive and measurable natural resources conservation outcomes.

Estimated Total Program Funding: $500,000
Award Ceiling: $200,000
Award Floor: $5,000
Eligibility Criteria
County governments
Independent school districts
Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
City or township governments
Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
State governments
Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Private institutions of higher education
Special district governments
