NOFO: Community Radio Technicians Skill Reinforcement and Capacity Building in Niger

The U.S. Embassy Niamey Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out training for community radio technicians in Niger.

This program aimed at reinforcing capacity and skills of community radio in the era of new technology in broadcasting rooms and studios.

Priorities
The training should be hands on with participants being given time to practice. Proposals for projects must focus on the following the priorities:

Understanding the broadcast room, studio, and production equipment
Setting-up equipment for better results
Getting ready for digital migration
Pre-maintenance, maintenance, and repair, especially in austere environments with harsh conditions
How to develop content to promote American English language learning, and/or good governance, and/or responsible citizenship such as through community service.
Funding Information
Estimated Total Program Funding: $40,000
Award Ceiling: $40,000
Award Floor: $10,000
Length of performance period: Up to 12 months
Priority Regions: Community Radio stations from all eight regions of Niger should be included. Training locations should include the cities of: Niamey, Maradi, Zinder, and Agadez. Some programming must take place at the American Spaces in each of these regions.

Eligibility Criteria
Submissions are encouraged from U.S. and Nigerien entities with relevant programming and/or teaching experience. This experience should be documented in the proposal. Eligible entities include:

Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations
Public and private educational institutions
Not-for-profit educational institutions
Individuals
Public International Organizations and Governmental institutions
