The starting salary package for this position is £71,654 per annum (approx. $96,601) including all allowances.

About the Syria Response programme:

MAG has been responding to the Syria crisis since 2013 working to support the development from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury.

 

About the role:

Due to the rapid growth and technical complexities within the Syria Response programme, there is a need for a dedicated Technical Instructor to ensure the oversight and implementation of training, monitoring & evaluation across the programme. The TFM Instructor must be willing to lead from the front, responsible for the day-to-day oversight and safe management of all aspects of improvised mine clearance and related tasks. This role will have responsibility for planning and coordinating all training operations, as well analysing the outcomes of training and training needs within programme.

 

About you:

You must be qualified to IMAS EOD 3, preferably with experience of working within the HMA sector. It would be beneficial to be experienced in IEDD or High Risk Search operations, through working for a similar organisation in a similar region, either in the humanitarian, commercial sector or military/civil service sectors. You must be willing to take on the physical challenges of working in a ‘hands on’ role in hostile environments, as part of a flexible and committed team.

 

For this role, in addition to the above, you will have proven experience in managing training operations, designing training material, conducting formal and informal training for diverse groups of people is essential. You must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and examples of where you have used mentoring and coaching skills to conduct training programmes.
