APM Terminals Port Elizabeth – Inland Services currently has a vacancy for a Site Manager, to manage depot and trucking services whilst driving business performance.
The Inland Operation is responsible for empty and full container storage, handling and container repairs as well as a trucking operation whose primary activity is to transport international import and export containers. The operation predominantly provides a service to the shipping lines as well as clearing agents, transporters and cargo owners.
This position is tactical and strategic in nature, with specific focus on driving performance, taking accountability for operational effectiveness and for commercial growth within Port Elizabeth.

Key responsibilities
OPERATIONS-Responsible for the management of multi-dimensional business operations, for the operational effectiveness and business continuity plans.-Ensure that all departments within the operations are operating at optimal levels and that customer SLA’s are being adhered to.-Produce weekly and monthly operational reports with explanation and corrective action on performance.-Manage operational KPI’s ensuring that high service levels are maintained.-Use the operational KPI’s to improve business performance to enhance revenue and reduce the cost of doing business.
FINANCE-Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and submit to Finance Department.-Compile Annual Budgets with regards to revenue, cost and business expectations.-Prepare CAPEX motivations and ensure that quotes have been obtained, compile and present compelling business cases to the Country Manager in respect of CAPEX purchases.
CUSTOMER-Implement SLA’s with key clients and monitor compliance on a daily/weekly and monthly basis.-Develop sound relationships with key stakeholders and relevant bodies.HSSE & RISK-Recognize and respond to the needs of the business in respect of HSSE and risk management, ensuring that preventative measures are in place.-Implement and drive HSSE initiatives to be industry leaders with regards to safety and security.
HR-Identify and address training needs on an annual basis and monitor monthly.-Effective people management through maintaining a culture of motivation and respect.-Yearly and Quarterly performance reviews of staff progress and development plans.-Develop and build employee engagement through action plans and assistance from HR.
We are looking for-Appropriate tertiary qualification, preferably in logistics.-5 years’ experience in Branch Management capacity.-Excellent knowledge of logistics & trucking operations.-Possess effective analytical, people, reporting and problem-solving skills.-Has a proactive approach to business development.-High energy levels and must possess a passion for logistics and people.-Requires ability to use computerized operation software system(s).-Has full knowledge of international standards of safe working practices within the industry as well as occupational health and safety laws.POSTULER
