As HSSE Supervisor, you will coordinate the execution of safety activities to Congo Republic and DRC operation in line with the corporate strategy and

relevant requirements specific for these locations.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, plan and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local rules and regulations as well as Company HSE management Framework

Establish the HSE and security management plan for the sake of loss prevention of the site.

Manage the country safety leadership program

Plan for and perform the facility HSE and security management programs.

Plan for and implement the site HSE & security training programs.

Check and improve the hazardous work conditions.

Manage occupational health, workers’ health examination.

Establish an emergency action plan in preparation of an accident occurrence in order to save the situation and restore the area after the situation is over.

Ensures business resilience by implementing CMP, ERP, HRE, BCM.

Plan for and implement the HSE & security training programs and ensures employees participate in various safety committee meetings.

Implement a Permit to Work System and manage and train relevant personnel.

Report HSSE performance status and relevant issues to the Area HSE Manager.

Ensuring compliance with local regulations regarding transportation, people health, workplace safety, security and environment.

Monitoring driver qualification files and the hiring and selection process

Conduct regular safety meetings with drivers

Reviewing drivers’ hours of service records for accuracy

Assuring drug / alcohol program is compliant with regulations and company policy

Conduct maintenance vendors audits to assure compliance with local regulation and company standards

Establish appropriate plan and policies to safeguard company assets

Prepare activity procedures, ensure they’re embedded into operation processes and roll out to staff

Overseeing and implementing the incident management process including coordination of reporting, investigation, documentation and implementation of learnings.

Assure proper accountability is delivered for preventable accidents

Provide a comprehensive & accurate monthly report containing appropriate metrics

Conduct and review Journey Management Plan and share outcome with drivers. 

Maintains safety files and records

Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

Monitors company environmental program and maintain hygiene at facility at all times and prepare required status report

Who we are looking for

A certified safety professional with at least 3-5 years of relevant HSSE experience in operations with a strong passion for keeping people safe

Having sound knowledge of local HSSE legislations in DRC & Congo, applicable to logistics industry is highly desirable

Ability to drive initiatives through cross functional teams

Good understanding of risk management principles and application of barriers and critical controls

Facilitation skills and ability to influence

Ability to drive alignment with the key stakeholders

Able to work autonomously and as part of a team

High ethical standards
