We are currently hiring a Equipment Flow Operator to join our team in Cape Town.
The role is about ensuring optimal equipment utilisation in line with empty flow plan, providing the most reliable and efficient service to our customers at the lowest possible cost, covering the forecasted equipment needs and managing healthy stock levels within specific geographical area.

Key responsibilities• Manage inland empty equipment positioning, using Port Load Planning input constraint management.• Deliver stocks and inventory control at inland locations/ports that meet approved forecast export bookings considering agreed stock factor management.• Daily stock monitoring per port to ensure stock progression meets Port Load Planning suggestion, Target Stock requirements or Commercial forecast/ROFO.• Ensure supply / evacuation planning to/from inland pools/ports correctly and timely.• Monitor vessel load coprar/Stowage layouts to identify opportunities to increase evacuation/supply opportunities• Ensure cost minimization by getting supply in/out of terminals to/from depots prior any free day expiration.• Establish most cost-effective alternative flow planning in case of equipment shortages in line with Port Load Planning /Commercial forecast/ROFO.• Manage and develop relationships with relevant internal/external stakeholders within geographical scope through the fostering of close interaction.• Initiate and drive E2E equipment related cost saving initiatives, including but not limited to equipment storage, flow execution and EQU upgrades within area of responsibility.• Increase the available global fleet, by reducing long standing and equipment dwell times.• Offhire boxes to be moved to required locations (or closest point) basis available services• Drive improvement in Forecast accuracy with commercial and escalate to management if there are no improvements even after multiple attempts• NB – above list is not exhaustive and you will need to cover any other tasks falling within your scope as inline the agility required /as needed within operations environment
We are looking for– At least 3 years’ experience in Shipping Industry or handling Operations responsibilities;- Understanding of operational business processes as well as basic knowledge of operational concepts;- Detail oriented, with sharp numerical and problem-solving skills;- Strong process oriented approach to work and excellent attention to detail;- Resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under minimal supervision;- Leadership experience would be an advantage- Excellent Written and Verbal skills with people at all levels across the organisation in English;- High sense of urgency.POSTULER
