We are looking for a dynamic professional to take on an exciting new role within the AFR Ocean Customer Logistics team: that of an Area Equipment and EMR Manager. This is a role at the very heart of Maersk operations and you will be part of a driven team at the centre of equipment operations for Maersk in South Africa. We aim to ensure we meet our Customers’ Equipment needs and also play a part in driving the Area Business Plans forward. The opportunity is immense and this is a real career break not to be missed!

Key Responsibilities:Within a certain Area, responsible for OCL EQU release and inland positioning, as well as EMR execution, vendor performance management with accountability for Cost & Quality and for ensuring alignment with Global Objectives and Operating System
Ensures optimal equipment utilisation in line with the empty flow planthrough an equipment teamEnsure that export volumes are sufficiently coveredEnsure the planning is executed at efficient stock levelEnsure that containers are in right condition to serve our Customers’ export needsResponsible for operational execution related to regional EMR activities, ensuring lowest cost and highest quality Responsible for Regional EMR direction setting and operating system, ensuring same is aligned with global blueprints Responsible for Regional and local performance management as outlined by the global objectives and KPIs Responsible for Regional and local project management in relations to improving capacity, quality or costResponsible for ensuring equipment supply and evacuation as per agreed planEnsures the overall utilization of available capacity to ship for empty equipment Manage longstandings for the Area and drive reductions in all age categoriesManage RKEM / COMET to ensure data integrity
