PURPOSE
The Programme Associate, GS-6 is accountable for the accomplishment of administrative functions in support of the HIV/AIDS section. The staff supports the section by carrying out a range of procedural, administrative, and operational tasks, to help develop, implement and monitor the WCARO HIV/AIDS programme, ensuring timely and effective delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES Support to programme implementation Compiles qualitative and quantitative data and information from a variety of sources on subject matters relevant to the work of the section to facilitate preparation of reports, working papers and presentations Monitors budgets and financial expenditures of section, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, keeping supervisor informed and advised on actions for decision and/or follow up Education: Completion of secondary education supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the Organization is required. Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in Administrative support or programme work experience is required. Experience supporting a Senior Staff in a large organizational context is highly desirable. Work experience with UN Organization or International not-for-profit Organization is an asset. Language Requirements: Fluency in French. Good working knowledge of English is an asset.
