Living Goods is hiring 01 Consultant

Living Goods is working to reduce maternal and child mortality by partnering with governments to deliver effective community health services to people’s doorsteps. We believe community health is essential for achieving Universal Health Coverage and focus on ensuring community health workers (CHWs) have the tools they need to drive deep health impact: digital technology, essential medicines, supportive supervision, and compensation.

Living Goods currently supports over 10,000 community health workers serving over 9 million people across Kenya and Uganda, and we are looking to scale this impact by partnering with governments in new countries. Over the past 6 months, Living Goods has conducted an analysis of Sub-Saharan countries where Living Goods could support the govt. to strengthen the community health system. We have identified Senegal as a promising potential expansion country and are recruiting for a short-term consultant to verify that assessment, define the roadmap for Living Goods to support strengthening community health in Senegal, and secure a formal partnership with the govt. to deliver that support, if the country is approved for additional investment. Depending on the results of this first phase of work, there may be an opportunity to extend this consultancy to operationalize Living Goods’ partnership with the govt. (exact scope of work will be determined at that time).

Requirements

  • Assess the community health and digital health landscape in-country to determine where Living Goods will be able to provide value-add. This will include mapping out key stakeholders from the Ministry of Health (MoH), implementing partner organizations, and donor agencies, and establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Determine MoH priorities for community and/or digital health and identify any gaps or challenges that Living Goods could support the MoH to address in the short term (1-2 years).
  • Support assessment and development of recommendations for Living Goods to provide long-term support in-country, including an assessment of the avenues to scale, partner and financing landscape, potential risks and mitigation strategies, and estimated ROI.
  • Secure an MOU with the MoH for 1-2 years of Living Goods’ in-country support, if the country is approved for additional investment and support.
