Join the Fight for Food Justice: Call for Proposals

Applications are now open for Our Food. Our Future (OFOF) Program, co-funded by the EU under the Development Education and Awareness Raising Programme (DEAR) and brings together 16 civil society organisations in 13 countries.

The vision is to build a strong coalition of young people (ages 15 – 35 years old) across Europe and work together in the pursuit of the common vision: A socially just and sustainable food system.

The main approach is awareness-raising and mobilization of young people across Europe. The youth will be engaged through a pan-European campaign, in their individual countries,with current research, and interactive engagement formats while multipliers such as journalists, bloggers/vloggers, and influencers will attract and mobilizeyouth to be part of changing narrative and behaviour in Europe which reflect asocially just and sustainable food system.

Objectives

As a project, they have committed to the following objectives:

To reach 30 million young adults in at least 18 European member states and raise their awareness by a European youth campaign on the nexus of food supply chains to climate change and migration.
To engage 500,000 youths that take an active part in supporting ethical supply chains by changing consumption patterns and/or active citizenship that pushes political and corporate decision makers to improve policies and make food supply chains more sustainable.
To mobilise 20,000 youths to become highly engaged for ethical food production or consumption.
To grow in experience, knowledge, and confidence to set the agenda in wider networks.

Each sub-grantee can apply for up to 60,000 Euros for the entire duration of the Sub-grant.
Our Food. Our Futureruns from March 2020 to August 2023. Sub-grantees will join the project for 12 to 22 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Our Food. Our Future support will be eligible for registered civil society organisations (CSOs).
Our Food. Our Future will provide financial assistance to one third party (sub-grantee) from each of the following European countries: Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia.
Applicant organisation must:
be a legal person (registered),
be non-profit-making,
be a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) or an association of CSOs (preference will be given to smaller, grassroot-oriented CSOs)
be established in a Member State of the European Union,
have some previous experience working on awareness raising among youth or working on food justice related themes,
be able to demonstrate capacities of communication and dissemination,
have the financial and administrative capacity to manage the grant.
