Job Summary:

To provide support and advancement of the Department of Global Security initiatives and to manage IMC security infrastructure system.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  •   Manage and maintain the International Medical Corps web-based Incident Management System (IMS)
  •  Identify and bring to the attention of senior Global Security staff, incident trends, patterns or sites of specific concern
  • Collect, analyze and collate routine weekly security Situation Reports (SitReps) and produce executive product – Global Weekly Security Report
  • Provide support to the sector lead for domestic/HQ facility safety, to include: First Aid Training, Emergency Plans, OSHA standards and other HQ safety related issues
  • One of the focal points for international travel approval processes
  • Provide pre-deployment information for international staff, as part of the travel approval process
  • Attend security coordination meetings
  • Attend program meetings as a representative for the Global Security Department.  Provide notes and accounting of various meetings
  • Administrative liaison for security involvement in Emergency Response activities
  • Provide support to the Global Security staff in copy editing of security sections within proposals, investigations and security program reports;
  • Bi-annual review and revision of required field security documentation

QUALIFICATION

  • Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in related area. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

EXPERIENCE

  • Typically, 3+ year of relevant and progressive experience working in related field, including 1-2 years of international and/or NGO work experience
  • Understands the NGO security strategy of acceptance
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
  • Presents him/herself in a professional manner
  • Understanding of multi-cultural nuances
  • Some Arabic, French or Spanish language skills
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Experience in a professional office environment
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to masterfully navigate social media
  • Must be able to legally live and work in the United States
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel to field programs

Misconduct Disclosure Scheme

International Medical Corps participates in the Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme from the Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR).
