Humanitarian Solidarity Grant Program (Ukraine)

In response to the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, MF “Renaissance” together with CARE Deutschland eV launched the “Humanitarian Solidarity” grant humanitarian program in early April 2022 for civil society organizations, volunteer teams, and state and communal institutions in the field of health care and social protection.

The “Humanitarian Solidarity” humanitarian grant program is implemented by the “Renaissance” International Foundation in partnership and with the financial support of CARE Deutschland.

The purpose of the competition: Promote rapid response to urgent and short-term humanitarian needs of vulnerable groups of the civilian population in the conditions of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Priorities of the Competition
In communities located in the immediate vicinity of the combat zone (Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, and Mykolaiv regions), – support for initiatives aimed at delivering and providing direct humanitarian aid, ensuring access to drinking water and hygiene products for vulnerable groups of the civilian population;
In de-occupied communities (Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions) – support for initiatives common to the public sector and local self-government, aimed at rebuilding housing and supporting vulnerable groups of the civilian population in preparation for the winter period;
In the communities that received the largest number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne and Zakarpattia regions) – support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity and improving living conditions in shelters, preparing them for the winter period, as well as ensuring access of IDPs staying in shelters to professional medical, psychological and other services .
Funding Information
The total budget of the competition is UAH 37,000,000
The minimum amount of the grant is UAH 450,000.
The maximum amount of the grant is UAH 750,000.
As part of the competition, they plan to support up to 50 projects with a maximum implementation period of up to 3 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Public organizations, unions, associations, societies and other public associations registered in Ukraine as non-profit or charitable organizations.
Proposals submitted by profit-making organizations, political parties, religious communities, state or communal institutions or individuals for participation in the grant competition will not be accepted.
Pay attention:
According to the requirements of the main donor – CARE Deutschland eV – humanitarian aid and support within the framework of the “Humanitarian Solidarity” program can be directed only to the civilian population .
Within the framework of the program, when evaluating applications, priority will be given to projects that are focused on supporting women, children and older people (60+), who are internally displaced persons and additionally belong to the following groups:
Persons with disabilities;
Persons dependent in specialized institutions (eg: geriatric institutions, orphanages, etc.);
Persons belonging to socially vulnerable categories.
