UN Women Iraq builds on the results achieved to date and continue to strengthen the engagement of strategic partners and relevant actors towards supporting UN-Women mandate in Iraq, fostering an ongoing dialogue on relevant gender-related issues. By making use of its capacity, knowledge and lessons learned on GEWE, WPS and WPP, UN Women will also focus on providing specialized technical support and involve relevant actors in capacity building initiatives with a view of enhancing the gender responsiveness of relief and development initiatives.
Objectives
Support Governmental Partners, Women Leaders and CSOs in their efforts to implement the GEWE, WPP and WPS agenda – Iraq & Yemen Cluster Office. The objective falls under the following Impact Areas/SP Outcomes and Output Clusters.

Women and girls contribute and have greater influence in building sustainable peace and resilience, and benefit equally from the prevention of natural disasters and conflicts and from humanitarian action.

Enhanced government accountability, capacity, and will to promote women’s leadership and implementation of international commitments on gender equality and women’s rights
Women Machineries have increased capacity to promote women’s leadership and participation in decision making
Yemen
Yemeni women and Youth participate in and influence the peace and security processes in Yemen
Better Strategic engagement and coordination with actors from tracks I and II to facilitate women’s participation in peace processes
