Applicants should demonstrate that their project has community benefit and charitable aims:

is run by local people for local people and involves users on their management committee,
engages as many people as possible, ensuring that users have a say in how the project is run,
meets identified local needs or issues.

Grants of between £250 and £5,000 are available, with up to £9,000 in exceptional circumstances.
What can be funded?

Priority will be given to capital items with a tangible, lasting benefit, including improvements to community buildings. Running costs and revenue funding will only be considered in exceptional cases.
Requests that are charitable, educational, philanthropic and benevolent in purpose.
Grants to community and voluntary organisations and schools, for non-statutory purposes only.
Biodiversity and habitat conservation.
Energy conservation and increased use of renewables.
Other projects which are community-based and/or community-led.
Eligibility Criteria

Community and voluntary groups, schools or other such organisations based within ten miles of the Green Rigg Wind Farm. Priority is given to those that benefit residents from within a three-mile radius and from parishes that partly fall within the priority area: Birtley, Corsenside, Kirkwhelpington, Bavington, Chollerton.
