The Call for proposals on “Financial and Technical support for Young Social Entrepreneurs in Ukraine” is launched under the ‘EU4Youth – Unlocking the potential of young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine’ (hereinafter – the Project), which provides a comprehensive approach to developing the social entrepreneurial potential of young people in Moldova and Ukraine by creating a favorable ecosystem for social enterprises and encouraging and supporting more young social entrepreneurs in developing and implementing their innovative solutions to promote social integration and environmental sustainability in both countries.

The project is funded by the European Union under the EU4Youth program. The project is implemented by the Gustav Stresemann Institute (GSI) (Germany), Egalite International (Ukraine), AXA Management Consulting (Moldova), ECO-RAZENI Association (Moldova), National Center for Assistance and Information for NGOs in Moldova CONTACT (Moldova ) and Pro NGO! (Germany).
Aims
The project aims to:
improving the legal framework for social entrepreneurship (SP) in Moldova and creating such legislation for Ukraine based on Moldova’s best practices;
increasing the capacity of young social entrepreneurs in the field of business administration, fundraising and advocacy to promote the interests of social enterprises through the development of the Moldovan-Ukrainian network of young social entrepreneurs;
motivating more young people in Moldova and Ukraine to create their own social startups and recognizing their contribution to social integration and reducing inequality;
strengthening appropriate business support structures for young entrepreneurs in both countries, including start-up capital financing.
Objectives
The specific objectives of the Competition are as follows:
strengthening the potential of young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine through coaching, mentoring and practical training;
providing start-up funding for young people in Moldova and Ukraine to launch their social and entrepreneurial innovation projects, which help create additional employment opportunities for vulnerable youth, reduce inequality and environmental sustainability.
Funding Information
The total estimated amount allocated under this Competition is 150,000 euros.
Lot 1 for Ukraine: UAH 3,100,000
Lot 2 for Moldova: 1,050,000 Moldovan lei
The Customer reserves the right not to allocate all available funds or to change the distribution between lots if an insufficient number of project applications is received.
The amount of grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must be within the following minimum and maximum amounts:
minimum amount: 280,000 hryvnias / 190,000 lei
maximum am ount: 310,000 hryvnias / 210,000 lei
Types of Projects
Supported activities may include, but are not limited to:
Job creation for vulnerable youth, especially young women, in Moldova and Ukraine
Production of innovative services or goods that help solve environmental or social problems in the target countries and are limited by government support
Marketing and advertising
Organization of employee training in the workplace
Eligibility Criteria
Definition: A project consists of a set of interrelated activities.
Duration: The initial planned duration of the project cannot exceed 6 months.
Place of residence: Geographical preference will be given to the following regions
Lot 1 for Ukraine: all regions
Lot 2 for Moldova: all regions except Cahul and Ungheni districts
