Global Citizen Curtis Scholarship 2018 for U.S. and U.K. Youth (Win a trip to South Africa and New York City)

Deadline: May 20, 2018

Applications are open for the Curtis Scholarship 2018. The Curtis Scholarship is an annual leadership development program to support youth ages 16-20 from underserved communities in the U.S. or U.K. who embody the values of global citizenship. Curtis Scholars will be invited to join a 10 day learning trip to South Africa, and one advocacy trip to Global Citizen Week Events in NYC.

The Curtis Scholarship funds an overseas development trip with Global Citizen for the award winner. The scholarship provides an immersive experience highlighting effective development programs around sanitation, girls and women, and education. The Scholarship seeks to create, support, and equip a network of youth advocates and community leaders committed to local and global response on issues surrounding extreme poverty.

Joined by members of the Global Citizen staff, the Curtis Scholars will explore social issues, innovative international organizations and cultural sites with a focus on poverty alleviation in Global Citizen’s issue areas. Their mission is to foster global citizenship and cultural awareness through empowering youth from underrepresented and underserved groups with the skills and opportunities to become active global citizens.
