Cultural Activities Grant to improve Physical and Mental Wellbeing across all Ages –

Deadline: 14-Oct-21

Community First is inviting applications for the Get Active – Cultural Activities Grant to build and accelerate projects that seek to improve the overall physical and mental wellbeing across all ages of the Herefordshire population and improve the lives of those most affected fastest through cultural activities.

Cultural activity is one way in which they can improve mental health and wellbeing and getting people engaged back into society following long periods of lockdown and restricted access to services.

You can apply for a grant to fund any activity, or equipment that will increase direct delivery of cultural activity, at a community level in Herefordshire. By culture they mean performing arts, visual art, craft, film & photography, creative writing, digital arts, combined arts, museums, heritage and public art.

You should note the following:

Activities should target inactive residents to get them active and encourage people to engage socially.
Projects will need to demonstrate how the cultural activity has improved participants’ mental health and / or reduced social isolation.
The activity must be additional activity, be free of charge to participants and inclusive.
They welcome project ideas delivering activities to residents of any age anywhere in the county.
You will need to complete the project by 30th June 2022 with all expenditure defrayed by this date. You will therefore need to demonstrate when you submit your application that your project is ready to go and that you will be able to undertake it within the time period. You need to demonstrate that your costs are realistic and value for money.
You will need to consider sustainability and ongoing support for residents at the end of the project.
