Community Finance Ireland announces Covid Charity Fund (UK)

The Community Finance Ireland is seeking applications from organisations in the Charity Sector in Northern Ireland for its Covid Charity Fund that will provide financial support to charities who have lost income due to the impact of COVID-19 and will be unable to cover unavoidable costs until 31/03/2021.

Early Grant Information for NGOs

Funding Information

Funding requests of up to £75,000 to be spent within 6 months. (The amount awarded will depend on the assessment of need and the demand for the available budget).
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should satisfy themselves that their charity is eligible for this funding in relation to all criteria 1-6 as below:-
The organisation was formed prior to 31st March 2020 and is a lawfully operating charity as defined by the Charities Act (NI) 2008;
Charities that have at least two unrelated people on its board or committee;
Charities that have a UK bank or building society account in the legal name of the charity with at least two unrelated people who can manage the account;
Charities that were financially stable prior to the impact of COVID -19 and where Community Finance Ireland (CFI) have no concerns regarding fraud or financial mismanagement;
Charities that can demonstrate that their fundraising or trading income has reduced due to the impact of COVID -19 and they have unavoidable costs to cover up to 31/03/2021 and;
Charities whose unavoidable costs cannot be covered by existing grants or public funding and are therefore at risk.
Ineligible Organisations:
Community Amateur Sports Clubs;
Community Interest Companies;
Non Charitable Social Enterprises and;
Non Charitable Trading Arms.

Application Form (Part B) Narrative on how Covid 19 has affected your organisation.
Application Form (Part C) Financial Overview Document.
Appendix 1: State Aid Declaration form.
Appendix 2: Equality Monitoring Form.
Latest published accounts (2019 or later).
Management Accounts for the current financial year.
Latest organisational bank statement clearly showing the organisation’s name, address, bank account number and sort code.
Reserves Policy (as formally agreed by the Charity, prior to 30 September).
Anti-Money Laundering documentation (Copy proof of ID (e.g. Passport, Electoral Card or Driver’s License) AND Copy proof of address (e.g. utility bill, personal bank statement or Driver’s License) for two company directors/trustees).
How to Apply

The Covid Charity Fund is open for applications from organisations in the Charity Sector in Northern Ireland from 9 am on Wednesday 6 January to Friday 22 January at 4 pm.
Please carefully read the Guidance Notes and ensure you have all the required documents ready from the Document Checklist. Once you are happy that you have everything you need to complete the application, you can access the online Application Form (Part A).
Please note, the online form does not have a ‘save’ facility and must be completed in one sitting.
When you have completed the online Application Form (Part A), you should email the completed requisite supporting documents from the checklist quoting the name of your organisation in the subject header.
Any applications that have not had all of their supporting documents emailed through will be deemed incomplete and will not be assessed.
