Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for the program’s implementation and the coordination of the team’s work. S/He will be in charge of developing the program’s strategies, providing direction to staff and sub-contractors, as well as ensuring the overall success of the outlined activities. As the program’s link to the child protection and anti-trafficking ecosystem, s/he will oversee the relationships with USAID, implementing partners, grantees, sub-grantees and other program related partners/activities. S/he will establish links with target stakeholder individuals and institutions, and develop a complementary relationship between the two target locations. The Program Manager will also supervise the implementation of program activities, monitor financial management, and validate tools and supports.

  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • Implement and monitor Planned activities of the project
  • Write quarterly, annual and final report or any other report pertaining to the project;
  • Undertake monthly budget checks to ensure implementation of project activities are within budget lines.
  • Review and print training materials
  • Purchase Equipment and other materials for activities related to the project;
  • Monitor the process of training in the intervention areas;
  • Develop and or solicit training materials for the training activities to be undertaken by the project staff;
  • Undertake and facilitate the documentation of lessons learned and best practices;
  • Undertake supportive visits
  • Disseminate reports and research findings on the project to partners and stakeholders; and
  • Network closely with CSOs, NGOs, CBOs, religious leaders, Government institutions and partners in
  • Leveraging resources and sharing lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in international development, political science or a related field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in international development;
  • S/he must have demonstrated capabilities in working effectively with local civil society organizations, local government and community-led organizations;
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership in the management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of similar sized donor-supported programs;
  • Skills in management, supervision, and budgeting;
  • Strong communication skills in French and, ideally, Wolof or other Senegalese local
    language; and
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively with local community leaders and nongovernmental organizations.
