Call for Expression of Interest for the Selection of NGOs/CSOs in Burkina Faso

Deadline: 14-Jan-22

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced the applications for the selection of NGOs / CSOs for the implementation of youth employment activities within the framework of the Stabilization Facilitation in Burkina Faso.

In response to the violence and in the face of the suffering resulting from the movements of populations in the Liptako-Gourma region in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, the UNDP and the Authority for the Integrated Development of Liptako-Gourma Member States (ALG ) agreed at the end of 2019 to put in place a stabilization strategy for the Liptako-Gourma region.

Areas of Interventions
Applicants are expected to make a project proposal, where coherent activities will be developed in three phases as follows.

Inclusion phase: It corresponds to the creation of temporary jobs for the benefit of groups affected by the crisis in order to meet their urgent needs through their voluntary engagement in community work. The targeting of these groups emphasizes the diversity of their origin in order to ensure the strengthening of cohesion
Appropriation phase: It involves supporting a wide variety of sustainable livelihood opportunities with an emphasis on self-employment and empowerment. Ownership is essential here and participants are encouraged to save a portion of their income towards financing their business.
Sustainable development phase: (Investment. Socio-professional integration; Linking with microfinance structures): This corresponds to the business setup phase, socio-professional integration and establishing contact with available sources of funding (micro finance, public funds, etc.). This phase includes, among other things, the empowerment of state actors, the building of productive capacities, and market and value chain assessments.
Objectives
The Liptako-Gourma Stabilization Facility (FSLG) has two general objectives:
