Job Description:

The successful incumbent will need to serve as a business advisor to manage the tax and audit functions of the Company. They will also be tasked with delivering a tax-effective compliant corporate structure, identify and mitigate risks and compliance. This role reports directly into the CFO.

Responsibilities:

Delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframes

Conduct in depth analysis of current tax practices and propose improvements

Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within the timeframe, ensure full tax compliance for the group

Providing innovative tax planning and reviewing complex income tax returns

Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise

Identify and mitigate current and new risks

Deliver timely, accurate and reliable data to Corporate tax function

Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices

Manage and coordinate tax audits

Ensure all tax documentation duly completed and handle all information data requests

Prepare and administer annual audit plans

Oversee audits to assess controls, operational efficiencies and compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations

Conduct audit exit conferences. Draft and issue audit reports

Recommend revisions and/or additions to policies and procedures in order to improve operations as well as internal controls

Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

Degree in Finance

Minimum 10 years of experience working in tax and audit

Minimum 5 years of experience working in a senior position

Ideally possess good experience in a similar role within the mining industry

Expertise in of African taxation laws

Advanced MS Office & ERP

Knowledge of tax software

Must have proven work experience as a Manager Tax & Audit in African market

Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns

Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems

Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships

Strong leadership and personnel management skills

Analytical skills with detail orientation

French speaking is beneficial
