Beaches Community Fund in the United States

Beaches Community Fund in the United States

Deadline: 14-Jan-22

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida is seeking applications from the nonprofit organizations for Beaches Community Fund to serve the Beaches communities from Mayport to Guana, east of the Intracoastal Waterway.

From Guana to Mayport, the beautiful beaches are the crown jewels of Northeast Florida. But the beauty of the beaches often overshadows issues many beaches residents are grappling with, such as poverty, food insecurity and rising housing costs. In 2013, a group of committed local donors stepped forward to acknowledge those needs, and began a journey that culminated in the Beaches Community Fund—a special fund created by Beaches people to support their neighbors and improve the quality of life for all Beaches residents.

Priorities
Priority will be given to applicants addressing:

The basic needs of beaches residents (food, emergency financial assistance, housing, shelter, transportation, health care, and behavioral health support), including those created or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Supports for K-12 students (including school-based supports, afterschool and out-of-school programs, and enrichment for low-income students).
Early learning opportunities for low-income students (including access to high-quality early learning centers, enhancing quality and learning within early learning centers, and home- or community-based learning opportunities).
The transportation needs of low-income Beaches residents to access essential goods and services.
Applicants who have not previously received a grant from the Beaches Community Fund, or who are outside the parameters, will be given lower priority.
