BBC is hiring a Bilingual Reporter
Job Introduction:

We are looking to recruit a Bilingual Reporter to work in Dakar on a continuing contract.
Role Responsibility:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role within the service, with TV and digital output. You will be providing timely, expert and authoritative coverage of news and current affairs events in Francophone West Africa. You will be required to report for multi-platform outlets, including television, online and social media and radio in English and French.
On a day to day basis you will provide broadcast coverage in both languages, covering news topics and events. You will also advice on news developments and will contribute to playbacks, programme reviews and editorial decisions.
You will be required to travel at short notice and may be needed to work across Africa, sometimes for several days and may be asked to work in hostile environments.
Are you the right candidate?
With excellent French and English language skills, you will have experience of field reporting and a strong broadcasting voice and track record of accuracy and impartiality.
You will have extensive knowledge of Francophone West Africa, including a good understanding of the complexities of the target region. The ability to work under pressure and react to breaking news is essential. You must be a self-starter, with a strong ability to work independently.
