An Emergency Relief Grant is a contribution towards loss of income between 1 March and 30 June due to COVID-19. This grant is a lump sum top-up of the WINZ COVID-19 Wage Subsidy to ensure artists and arts practitioners receive $25 per hour for their lost income, aligning to Creative New Zealand’s policy for paying artists and arts practitioners fairly.

This grant offers short-term income relief to sustain careers for artists and arts practitioners:

The support can only be applied for once in the period to 30 June 2020.
