ACTED Syria

Since 2012, ACTED has been implementing projects with vulnerable communities in Syria with a two-fold approach: ACTED provides life-saving support to vulnerable displaced persons, returnees, and host communities across Syria, through multi-sectorial rapid emergency services, and implements a wide range of resilience building interventions. Thus, ACTED has been able to strengthen its links with Syrian local communities and to develop an in-depth knowledge of local dynamics. A team of 900+ is currently working in Syria.

You will be in charge of

1.Project Implementation Follow-up

Prepare the work plan and time schedules for implementing the WASH activities

Coordinate and implement day to day WASH activities with stakeholders in field ensuring that technical quality and standards are considered and respected during project(s) implementation

Participate in project coordination meetings with the whole project team

Review budget utilization and physical target achievements at least once a month as per work plan

Ensure WASH activities are on time, target and budget, using effective M&E systems to reach desired impact

Assist the Project Manager to trouble-shoot any unforeseen challenges during the project implementation

2.Administration and Operational Management of WASH Activities Implementation

Finance

Forecast monthly cash requirements for WASH activities and submit to the PM

Logistics

Contribute to the development of Procurement plans

Send accurate and precise order forms in a timely manner

Ensure a proper management and use of the project assets and stocks

Plan WASH team movements based on available fleet and applicable policies

Administration/HR

Participate in the recruitment of WASH technical staff (development of organigrams, ToRs, elaborating the tests and reviewing them; interviews etc)

Ensure that WASH staff understand and are able to perform their roles and responsibilities

Follow-up the work plans and day-to-day activities of the WASH staff

Manage the project staff in cooperation with the Project Manager c) Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics among WASH staff

Ensure capacity building among staff in

Transparency

Keep record of all WASH activity documents, in particular beneficiary list, completion certificates, attendance sheets, etc.

Security

Ensure that each member of the WASH team is aware of security issues, policies, SOPs and they follow them accordingly

3.External Relations

Undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult and involve beneficiaries, key informants, actors, partners and stakeholders in all stages of project design and implementation

Cultivate good relations with key humanitarian actors – local and international, including government authorities and non-state actors, through regular attendance at technical meetings and bilateral meetings

Ensure that at all times contact with beneficiaries is conducted in a sensitive and respectful manner

Identify opportunities to collaborate and coordinate efforts with other organizations to ensure our activities build upon – rather than replicate – the work of others

4.Quality Control

Assess the WASH activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources;

Undertake regular field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitor the progress of WASH activities

Assists with monitoring the WASH activities implemented by partners (if any) in the field

Document lessons learned and best practices and share them with the Project Manager so they can be reflected in project planning and decision making

5.Reporting

Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Project Manager and other team members

Support the Project Manager in the preparation of progress and final reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of technical information for WASH activities

 

Ville Amuda
Expériences / Formation du candidat Degree in civil engineering, water engineering, or related courses;

At least 1 years of experience in project implementation and construction, preferably in an international context;

At least 1 years of experience in water supply, water quality, sanitation, and related fields;

  • Salary defined by the ACTED salary grid depending on education level, expertise, security level and experience
  • Living allowance of 300 USD

  • Flight tickets in and out + Visa taken in charge by ACTED
  • Provision of medical and repatriation insurances
