The Arts South Australia, Department of the Premier and Cabinet is seeking applications for its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grants – Projects to support the creative development, production, and presentation of new work.

Seed Grants
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individual artists and arts and cultural workers, groups, and arts and cultural organizations can apply for projects across all art forms.

Funding Information

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grants – Projects: Up to $25,000.
What you can apply for?

creative development and/or production or the making of work, including research and planning;
exhibitions and touring costs regionally, nationally, and internationally;
presentation opportunities to enhance profile locally, nationally, and internationally;
performance opportunities;
research projects.
What this category funds?

administration;
commissioning fees;
creative fees (such as performers, composers, choreographers, designers, producers, curators, etc);
technical personnel and production costs;
travel, living allowance;
marketing costs;
materials;
hire a studio, venue, and equipment;
freight;
curatorial collateral, catalog essay writer’s fees, catalog design, and printing costs;
documentation (eg, photography and videography);
exhibition costs.
Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individual artists, groups, arts, and cultural organizations;
non-Aboriginal led organizations that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, culture and practice may apply and will need to demonstrate and reference that appropriate consultation and protocols are in place;
funded organizations: small-to-medium organizations, major organizations, and Statutory Authorities;
organizations funded through the National Performing Arts Partnership Framework (NPAPF) formerly known as Major Performing Arts (MPA) Companies;
arts and cultural organizations and Aboriginal arts centres may submit and/or auspice grants on behalf of individual Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and arts and cultural workers.
Who is ineligible:
non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals.
How to Apply

Organization Applicants

Verify your connection to the organization (this includes Local Government and state government agencies) through the Grants Portal. Go to the My Organisations section of the portal and request that you are associated with an existing or new organization.
Once you have submitted your request to be associated with an organization, they will review and verify your request or contact you to discuss further.
You will be able to start an application on behalf of an organization once your request has been verified.
Please allow sufficient time for the verification process to ensure your application can be submitted before the closing date.
All Applicants – Individuals, Groups, and Organisations

Check that all previous funding from Arts South Australia is acquitted (check with them if you are unsure).
Read the relevant grant category page.
Email them to make a meeting to discuss your proposal and ask questions.
If you are a new applicant, register in the Grants Portal. If you are a previous applicant but have not logged in to the portal before, email them to be issued with a temporary password.
Log in to the Grants Portal and identify the category and round for which you wish to apply.
Click on ‘Apply’ to access the online application form.
Complete the online application form and upload Key Application Attachments and relevant Support Material; include appropriate permissions, consultations, acknowledgments, and communication when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities, and/or when working with children. Please note: The maximum file upload per application (including all Key Application Attachments and Support Material) is 10MB.
Your application will remain in draft and can be revised at any time prior to the round closing (until you click ‘submit’).
Refer to their Grants Portal Assistance page as required.
Please note: Applications lodged after 5 pm on the closing date will not be accepted; applications that do not meet the prescribed application requirements (see category pages) will not be assessed.
