The U.S. Mission in DAKAR, SENEGAL is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Economic-Commercial Office Manager.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :
Under the supervision of the Economic-Commercial Chief, the incumbent serves as the Office Manager of the Econ-Commercial Section providing administrative support for a busy, bilingual office, following Embassy and USG guidelines and regulations. S/he will be a highly-organized computer-literate, multi-tasker able to organize and supervise all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of an office.
The incumbent must also coordinate with other offices to facilitate travel arrangements, manage procurement of office supplies, and support the administrative and logistical needs of the section. Duties may include working with Econ-Commercial colleagues to organize meetings, events, receptions, and workshops. S/he should be able to communicate, draft correspondence and solicit information in English and French. The incumbent should also be able to write summary pieces in English of French language articles.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics or related field.
2. EXPERIENCE: At least three years prior office management work experience in a business or diplomatic mission with emphasis on office management skills.
3. LANGUAGE: Level III English is required. (This will be tested.)
4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The position also requires very good computer skills, including knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. (This will be tested.)

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Management may consider any of the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.
2. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
4. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold the following: a non-sensitive security clearance.
5. Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.
