Overall Purpose/Broad Function
The PINKK Project – Regional Nutrition and Public Health Coordinator (PINNK) will be working in conjunction with implementing partners and local government agencies and overseeing the planning, implementation and monitoring of the PINKK project field level activities. He/she will ensure that the project’s interventions and plans are timely and efficiently implemented as per guidelines provided by the PINNK and resources are properly used.
He will be representing the PINKK project in regional coordination structures and maintaining the linkage between the PINKK project and regional government agencies and partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development and Planning
– Providing update to PINKK management team on project context and environment to inform the regular update of regular update and reporting of the landscape analysis of nutrition the nutrition and food security landscape in the region of Kolda and Kedougou.
– Guiding and leading project and partner field staff for a proper use of tools and guidelines in order to facilitate high quality quarterly and monthly planning and budget forecasting for the implementation of the project activities.
– Lead, coordinate and facilitate quarterly and monthly work plan elaboration meetings in order to ensure synergies among implementing partners.
– Ensure that PINKK project plans are fully incorporated into regional and local development action plans in the region.
Program Implementation and Management
– Ensure that project activities are implemented according to agreed approaches, guidelines and procedures.
– Consolidate, analyze and transmit to the PINKK project management team, the monthly and quarterly reports and recommendation on the implementation of the project activities.
– Provide guidance and technical assistance to project and partner’ field staff in the area of nutrition and health.
– Oversee and ensure the successful and timely implementation of the PINKK project activities in the region.
– Maintain up-to-date documentation related to project approval, monitoring and implementation within the region.
 Program Monitoring and Evaluation and documentation
– Undertake periodic filed visits as may be required to the PINKK project sites to provide support and technical direction for the project and implementing partner’s staff and actors.
– Assist the PINKK M&E Officer and implementing partners and key stakeholders, in collecting, gathering and reporting on the implementation of activities and project’s progresses.
– Oversee and follow-up the timely dissemination and implementation of recommendations related to the region from monitoring visits and evaluation within the scope of the PINKK plans.
– Draft or provide input to documentation on lessons learned.
– Provide inputs to PINNK reports.
– Other duties and responsibilities may be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will supervise the water, sanitation and hygiene officer.
Education/Professional Designations/Experience
– A Bachelors’ degree in health, nutrition food science and technology field or agriculture.
– At least 5 years relevant experience, 3 of which must be in management and food safety and other relevant food security issues.
– Experience with national governments and other institutions is required.
– Experience working in a decentralized environment.
Language Skills
Fluency in French, and working knowledge of English and local languages is an advantage.
Travel Requirements
Based in Kedougou/Kolda; travel may be required up to 30% of the time within the region.
Other Specific Skill Requirements:
– Practical understanding of regulatory decision-making in Senegal.
– Attention to detail, good research and analytical skills.
– Strong written, verbal and communication skills.
– Team player, strategic thinker, self-starter, good communicator, and skilled networker.
– Proven organizational ability and excellent time-management skills.
– Selected candidates must have current legal entitlement to work in Senegal.
