Systems Engineer – Thies

About Role
The Systems Engineer is a key role that will lead day-to-day technology operations and support a small team in Senegal. The Systems Engineer will also develop key components of myAgro’s game-changing digital layaway platform, which will have global reach. An important responsibility of this role will be to develop and improve myAgro’s work across multiple platforms – mobile apps, web applications, SalesForce.org, SalesForce App Exchange, and USSD/SMS to develop creative and streamlined ways to support myAgro’s model and farmer support. You will work collaboratively with a technology team based in the US, Senegal, Mali and East Africa. You will also work cross functionally with myAgro’s executive team, field operations team and R&D teams. Key responsibilities are:
• Systems Design: Design and build next-generation mobile, web and SalesForce applications for our field and headquarter offices, with a focus on the client side development. This includes working on designing elegant user interfaces, writing great code, ensuring cross-system functionality and playing a key role on innovating to ensure myAgro has the best tools to do our work
• Data Management & Reporting: Monitor myAgro’s payment and client data; develop and support teams by designing dashboards, reporting and developing report/SMS triggers to improve field team and organizational performance against key goals
• Troubleshoot: Collaboratively troubleshoot, fix bugs and be responsive to myAgro’s ticketing platform. Solve problems quickly and communicate with related teams as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related technical discipline is required
• Experience in software engineering including code development, scripting, workflow, and data mapping
• Minimum of 3 years experience in designing/supporting tech platforms, websites or related applications
• Proven ability to work independently on important projects

• Mobile application development skills
• Administration experience in Relational databases and (or) CRM systems

Development and Communications Associate

About this Role
The Development and Communications Associate will be responsible for designing and delivering powerful and informative communications content for internal and external audiences. He/she will bring strong interest in storytelling and a passion for our mission to support small-holder farmers in West Africa. The ideal candidate will use his/her fundraising, and/or marketing expertise to take on a myriad of tasks related to reporting to donors  and capturing images and stories to share with external audiences in reports and social media channels. The main goal of this role is to frequently capture stories from the field (both written and visual) to tell the myAgro story on an ongoing basis to external audiences, namely potential and current donors.
To be successful in this role, you must be an excellent writer, with prior professional experience in a similar role and compelling examples of the work you have done previously. You must have photography skills to help capture stories of the myAgro model and impact. This is a newly created position, and requires a self-starting person who is not afraid to ask questions, and shows determination to power through unforeseen challenges. Reporting directly to the VP of Development, the Associate will support efforts to build networks, research potential partnerships and funders, and support the implementation of development and communication strategies.
This role is based in Thies, Senegal with travel to rural areas and Mali as needed.
Responsibilities
• Gather stories, photos and updates from the field to help share myAgro’s impacts to donors and external audiences through social media and donor reports
• Support donor communications and reporting, including quarterly and annual reports, newsletters, and other written materials
• Other projects and tasks as they arise
Required Qualifications
• 1-2 years of experience in fundraising or communications/marketing
• Strong writing and editing skills, preferably in the area of grant proposal writing
• Stellar photography and visual storytelling skills
• Proficiency in Salesforce, MailChimp, and Microsoft Office
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage details, adapt easily to changing priorities, and deliver under tight deadlines

About Program Associate – Thies
The Program Associate position, based in Thies, is a core role within myAgro that helps accelerate myAgro’s ability to scale, reach 100% sustainability and increase its impact.  This role will be team lead for 2-3 field teams (~30 people). You will gain a breadth of experience in designing and scaling high impact cross functional programs that work across financial inclusion, agricultural development and mobile technology. Reporting to Thies-based Program Manager and working closely with teams across the organisation, you will part of a team that is responsible for helping myAgro reach its ambitious goals in West Africa.
• Team Lead: Manage a team of 10 – 30 people and support other team leaders to hire, retain and develop their teams to reach myAgro’s goals.

About Partnerships Associate – Based in Thies, Senegal
myAgro aims to reach 1 million farmers by 2025 and has recently launched a global partnerships program to achieve its ambitious target. As Partnerships Associate, you will have the exciting opportunity to set up a pilot with a new partner to develop and test myAgro’s path to scale.
Over the last two years, myAgro has been conducting trials with savings groups and creating a body of knowledge on best practices for partnering with savings group operators. Building on these initial successes, the Partnerships Associate will work within myAgro’s core program team in Senegal to launch a new partnership with an international NGO. You will be responsible for co-developing the program, piloting new innovations and codifying what works to be scaled up. Reporting to the Director of Partnerships and working collaboratively with both myAgro and the NGO partner, you will be an integral part of a team tasked with helping myAgro reach its ambitious goals worldwide.
Responsibilities
• Program Design: Innovate and improve on myAgro’s model to develop a pilot adapted to the context of the partner organization.
• Service & Product Development: Design marketing strategies, tools and processes to test and scale products to increase farmer adoption & income.
• Data & Analysis: Working closely with myAgro’s IT team, use myAgro’s database to develop the reports and analysis needed for program roll out, improvement and scale.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Regularly update and share a program dashboard and perform data analysis to evaluate the pilot, improve performance and adapt for future scale up.

Special Assistant to the CEO

About this Role
The Special Assistant to the CEO is a newly created position designed to provide direct day-to-day support to the CEO, acting as her right hand and taking on specific and varied projects as needed.  The goal of the Special Assistant to the CEO is to make the CEO a better, faster, stronger and more effective leader by creating capacity for her to focus on the most important things. The Special Assistant will be exposed to a wide range of responsibilities, including driving special projects, conducting research, leading new initiatives, managing people issues and HR processes, supporting donor relations, and managing schedule and travel.
The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting and building the behind-the-scenes infrastructure by engaging in detail-oriented work to support program implementation, internal and external communication systems, and data analysis. Responsibilities
• Lead discrete projects on various topics of importance to the CEO, working closely with the myAgro senior team under tight deadlines. Example projects include:
• Develop talent profiles of successful myAgro field agents to help improve our recruitment and selection process.
• Assist with fund-raising and development activities, including drafting grant applications and proposals and assisting with fund-raising or meeting event planning.
• Research best practices in behavioral economics and write an internal white paper on what methods or projects might be applicable to our context.
• Work with an HR consultant to customize an HR payroll system to manage our growing team in West Africa.
• Analyze M&E data and create a KPI dashboard to share across teams and with the myAgro board.
• Support the CEO and other members of the Executive Team
• Research, synthesize, analyze and summarize information and issues for the CEO.
• Assemble informative and attractive printed materials and powerpoint slides in advance of both internal and external meetings.

Position Overview

Program Associates are key members of myAgro’s team, focused on developing and managing our field and office programs and trials. A strong preference will be given to those who have operated in fast-growth environments with limited resources and/or in developing nations.
