APERÇU DU PROJET :

Le projet SPRING au Sénégal a été sollicité par l’USAID/Sénégal pour fournir un soutien technique afin d’améliorer l’état nutri- tionnel des femmes et des enfants, avec un accent particulier sur le renforcement de la résilience à travers la prévention et le traitement de la malnutrition, tout en ciblant les 1000 premiers jours à travers trois catégories principales d’intervention :

  1. Augmenter l’accès et la consommation d’aliments variés et de qualité;
  2. Améliorer l’accès aux services de nutrition de qualité ;
  3. Augmenter la demande pour les pratiques et les services clés en agriculture, nutrition, hygiène ejt assainissement.

L’équipe de mise en œuvre de SPRING est constituée de JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., Helen Keller International (HKI), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Save the Children (SC), et The Manoff Group (TMG). L’approche de SPRING/Sénégal pour la réalisation de ces objec­tifs est fondée sur l’intégration des activités qui permettront de renforcer la production agricole, le revenu agricole, et les voies d’autonomisation des femmes, avec des interventions en nutrition, santé, hygiène et assainissement.

Dans l’objectif de renforcer les efforts à l’échelle nationale et globale pour augmenter l’impact des pratiques et politiques en matière de nutrition, SPRING/Sénégal cherche à recruter trois (3) postes.

Function

The SPRING/Senegal Team is seeking an energetic, hard-wor­king, and passionate applicant to join our dynamic team! We are looking for someone at the Officer level (see below for qua­lifications).

SPRING is a USAID funded project seeking to effect improve­ments in the nutritional status particularly of children in the Sine Saloum region of Senegal.

The Program Learning Officer will be an integral part of the SPRING/Senegal country team and will manage and support strengthening the project’s dissemination and outreach efforts to ensure SPRING products and publications are widely shared across the global nutrition and international development com­munities. The successful candidate will ideally have solid wri­ting skills in English, have some US Government or internatio­nal development experience, and have a demonstrated ability to work as team member while also managing tasks indepen­dently. This position will report to the Chief of Party, and work across the project, supporting multiple teams.

Strengthening Partnerships, Results and Innovations in Nutrition (SPRING) is a six-year cooperative agreement funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide state-of-the-art technical support and facili­tate country-led, regional, and global programs to improve the nutritional status of women and children. The SPRING imple­mentation team consists of JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., Helen Keller International (HKI), The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Save the Children (SC), and The ManofF Group (TMG).

This position is for approximately 10 months (ending in July 2017)

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limi­ted to the following:

  • Support all SPRING/Senegal documentation efforts, inclu­ding quarterly reports, the final report, technical briefs, suc­cess stories, etc.
  • Spearhead external communication efforts for SPRING/Senegal, including researching new channels for SPRING’S technical content, refining and implementing a pro­cess to share SPRING’S They will also be in charge of overseeing dissemination efforts.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop technical blogs, web content, and other pieces to promote SPRING’S work and facilitate its placement in different strategic com­munication channels, including SPRING consortium partners.
  • Recommend and implement creative data visualizations to enhance dissemination efforts.
  • Build capacity of SPRING/Senegal field staff to share project achievements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred in communications, internatio­nal relations, nutrition, public health, or related field and 1-3 years relevant experience. If no master’s degree, 2-5 years of relevant work experience is required. Excellent written and verbal French and English skills required. Must be a strong writer and able to synthesize technical material into short and concise communication pieces.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure high-quality products that meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with and understanding of social media chan­nels—including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram—and web and social media analytics tools.
  • Ability to think strategically a must and ability to leverage existing networks to more effectively share SPRING/Senegal resources preferred.
  • Experience working with program staff to develop and opti­mize project resources for publication.
  • Experience in creation, marketing, and dissémination of publications and other communications products.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and manage various projects in a team setting.
  • Experience with USAID and/or other donor agencies and demonstrated commitment to health and/or international development highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel regionally within Senegal.
