Job Description:
This is an exciting time for Tostan. Following 26 years of leading the organization, our inspirational Founder, Molly Melching, is stepping aside to dedicate her time and extraordinary talent to program development, delivery and training.
As a result, we are currently seeking an exceptional, passionate, and collaborative Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Tostan as it continues to work with millions to transform lives, communities and countries, and touches the lives of tens of millions more.
The CEO will also lead the organization into an exciting new strategic era of expanded reach, partnerships, and impact. The CEO will report to the Board of Directors, and work closely with the Founder as she transitions to a new role.
This role offers a unique opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion for community empowerment and dignity for all, to lead a successful and highly impactful organization as it grows and develops into the future.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of, and commitment to, community-led development and will possess the ability to be a strong external spokesperson to a wide range of audiences.
S/he will bring strategic vision, significant leadership and management experience, emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire a talented and dedicated team.
Qualifications
Our next CEO will be familiar with the realities facing rural communities in Africa. With excellent communication skills, s/he will be fluent in English and French. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a strong alignment with our mission, vision and values, and will be a credible and inspiring representative of Tostan in the eyes of all our stakeholders, both internal and external.
