The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Global Supply Chain Manager (Capability/Performance) to be based in London, Nairobi or Dakar – or any existing Save the Children office. This role is offered on the basis of a 2 year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

In this new role, which has been created under the wider Supply Chain Transformation strategy, you will focus on defining and implementing Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) which are aligned to the organisations objectives and enable the Supply Chain function to become a High Performing function. This will encompass changes, as required, to processes, policies, procedures, systems and tools.

In order to be successful you will bring:

– Experience within global, multicultural organisations – public, private or charity sector.

– Experience within the technical areas of supply chain, including the use of appropriate tools, and a strong understanding of appropriate KPI’s

– Detailed knowledge of industry standards and best practice.

– The ability to synthesise and analyse complex information, and make clear, informed decisions.

– Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.

– The ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally with a flexible yet stabilising attitude.

– The ability to travel for up to 10% to operational country programs (on occasion remote and insecure) and attend external meetings.

On a personal level, you’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, cultural awareness, and a strong results orientation.
