Internship project background and aims:
This internship is designed to provide practical work experience in administrative program support. The intern will work together with the Country Program team in Senegal on a variety of activities and tasks related to supporting PATH programs focused on better health outcomes in Senegal.

Benefit to Intern:
Intern will gain exposure to program support activities and processes of a country program for an international NGO. Intern will gain hands on experience in conducting program support and administrative activities that assist with meeting department goals.

Internship goals and learning objectives:
Under the supervision of the senior office assistant, the Administrative intern will gain exposure to program and administrative operations of a country program for an international NGO. Intern will gain hands on experience in conducting organizational and program support activities and will assist with meeting department goals.

Skills to be developed and/or enhanced during internship:
Ability to work in a professional office conducting a variety of administrative tasks such as office organization, filing systems, program/customer support, interactions with third party partners and application of technology (including Word, Excel, Outlook).

Proposed activities:
Support the office admin assistant in reception duties: interfacing with visitors, including providing information and assistance to international PATH visitors
Build relationships with various program teams while providing administrative support
Assist in managing travel arrangements for program teams including visa process, flight booking, cash advance and follow up
Be part of the backup team for logistics and procurement arrangements
Support the team in writing correspondences both in French and English

Learning outcomes (how the Intern’s performance will be evaluated):
With consistent mentorship and direction provided during the course of the internship, the intern’s peformance will be evaluated based on:
Regular meetings and feedback from internship manager and/or team.
Review of progress on and completion of internship activities

Required skills:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and in a multi-cultural environment
Excellent mastery of MS Office suite

Required experience:
Diploma in Secretarial studies and/or advanced secretarial experience
Experience in a bilingual professional environment
Non-profit organization experience preferred
*All PATH internships are eligible for school credit. Please refer to your university’s process for credit eligibility.*

Must have legal authorization to work in Senegal.
